On February 7th, all Bishop Elementary students and staff participated in Art for the Sky. Art for the Sky has come to our school twice before. The event was organized by Tracey Taylor, one of our fabulous front office secretary’s, and was funded by generous local organizations and businesses such as Altrusa, Bishop Sunrise Rotary Club, Bishop Paiute Tribal Council, Inyo County Probation, Rock Creek, Mountain Apparel, and High Country Lumber. A big shout out to the Bishop Fire Department for providing amazing aerial shots, and to parent and community volunteers for helping coordinate the event. Art for the Sky is a unique and fun team building activity for schools. Bishop Elementary School's Jackrabbit is made up of over 870 students, parent volunteers, and staff!
Power pole and lines are down on Main St near Schat's Bakery this morning (Tues 2/7). Please avoid the area and take your time to travel safely to school today. Our power is back on and we plan on schools operating on a normal schedule.
